Milford, North Shore, Auckland
An opportunity to be in a homestay with a genuine sociable kiwi family
We will have both the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms available from Saturday 16 August.
So, an opportunity to live in a homestay with a friend! However, you are in New Zealand to improve your English, so yes, we would like you to speak English as much as possible.
Sharing a comfortable house in a safe suburb of Milford on the North Shore, Auckland.
We are a couple in our active 60s and son who did LLB/BCom at UoA
(Our other kids have now left home!)
Breakfast (get your own cereal /toast)
Lunch (make your own sandwiches) with food provided - or do fried rice etc from food provided.
Dinner will be made for you.
There may be occasions when you will need to prepare your own food from materials and ingredients provided.
Myself and/or husband might go on holiday, or be otherwise out of Auckland.
The house is in a safe, suburban area; we're in a quiet street.
Walking times are from Google Maps;
Milford Mall ( 9 mins, 650m) and bus stop
Milford Beach – (19 mins, 1km)
Smales Farm bus station (28 mins, 2km) Express NX1 and NX2 to city, local buses.
AUT Akoranga Campus (51 mins, 4 km) (AUT city campus requires a bus to get across the harbour bridge!)
North Shore Hospital (25 mins, 2km)
Westlake Schools - girls or boys 2km
Takapuna library – (44 min 3km)
Both bedrooms have a large single or double wardrobe, single bed, chest of drawers, desk with chair, heater.
Nice bed coverings, sheets and towels are provided.
The house is overall quite large, a second lounge downstairs has a table tennis table. (the son lives here, we no longer look after the cat !!).
There's enough room to have friends around without disturbing everyone else.
Apart from the ensuite for the master bedroom, there's one bathroom upstairs, and one downstairs. All bathrooms have recently been renovated.
The kitchen is quite large. Room to store your snacks. Of course, you're welcome to make friends a cup of tea or coffee.
You would have to do your own washing, and keep your room tidy. Clean the shower after each use.
Clean the kitchen if you use it. In other words, we have a nice house for pleasant, considerate people.
Breakfast – serve your own
Lunch – make your own sandwiches / fried rice etc from food provided.
Dinner made for you. Or, make you meal from food provided occasionally.
There may be times when my husband and /or myself will be away.
